Bonded Fixed Retainers

Bonded retainers are a convenient and innovative way of maintaining the stability of your teeth once treatment is completed. Since they are not visible and bonded behind the upper and lower front teeth, they do not require placement and cooperation from the patient to being worn in the mouth for extended periods of time, thus eliminating the issues of breakage and non-compliance as with removable retainers.

Bonded retainers are designed to be as small and hygienic as possible, so generally they can be left in indefinitely. Research and experience has shown that the best way to stabilize and insure that teeth remain in position is the placement of bonded retainers.

Removable Retainers

Although bonded retainers are the retainer of choice in our office, removable retainers are also delivered at the end of treatment in the rare event that something should happen to the bonded retainer, they can used as back-up. Remember to remove your retainer before brushing, and brush your retainer before placing it back in your mouth.
